Meet Your Practitioner

About Tina Chen, PMHNP

Hello, I’m Tina Chen, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I believe that quality mental health care begins with listening, understanding, and creating a space where people feel comfortable being themselves.

My educational journey has taken me through several different fields, each of which has shaped the way I connect with and care for others. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside, followed by my teaching credential from California State University, Fullerton in 2009. I later pursued a career in healthcare, earning my Master of Science in Nursing from California Baptist University in 2020 and completing my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner studies at National University in 2021.

Being a nurse practitioner is deeply meaningful to me because it gives me the opportunity to help people through some of the most challenging periods of their lives. I strive to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental, and individualized care while helping my patients better understand their mental health and work toward meaningful, lasting improvement.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with my family and my pets— one dog and three cats —who bring plenty of personality and joy into my life. I also enjoy computer programming, learning new things, and socializing with the people I love.

I look forward to getting to know you and working together toward your mental health and wellness goals.
